Laurie Lamberton Rounds

Born in the Midwest, I had the advantage of growing up surrounded by natures beauty. As children we ran wild through the fields, creeks and woods, enjoying the awesome serenity and beauty of our world.

So it was only natural that when I started drawing and then painting, that I interpret those surroundings in my artwork.

In grade school I first starting drawing and then painting horses, a passion of mine. I love their grace, their strength, their beauty. I have an affinity for all animals. During my university art school days, I became passionate about abstract art, figure drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture and especially paintings and drawings of trees. You will notice that much of my subject matter still depicts the enormous majesty of trees. Clouds and the sky are another of my interests. They are an ever changing palette of form and color. And of course my garden. I love the feel of digging in the earth, planting seeds and watching them grow and mature like my children.
